Matthew J Shaw is the author of An Inky Business: A History of Newspapers from the English Civil Wars to the American Civil War (May 2021). He is Librarian at The Queen’s College, Oxford, following nearly five years as the librarian of the Institute of Historical Research, University of London, and almost 15 years in various curatorial roles at the British Library.
